Bio & CV
In Fall 2022, Antinomy produced a well-received installation and painting in Istanbul demonstrating our unique mode of artistic practice, “Hyperobject Sculpture, Painting and Performance”. The output was a large wall-sized installation titled “Neganthropocene Summit” consisting of large vinyl text, a screen, a street art poster print of an online whiteboard. The installation visualized the concept of “The Neganthropocene” which reframed human and non-human syntheses to resolve the planet’s ecosocial crises. The work integrated alchemical symbols, meme aesthetics, street art and the mundane interfaces used in classrooms. The print demystified AI, inviting participants to co-design an “Artificial Subjectivity”, by contributing arbitrary poetic parameter. Finally, the installation was paired with a performance in which Antinomy members married the same quantum star, demonstrating how human and non-human entities could engage in superpositional relations.
From early 2023, Antinomy began the “Democraseum” project, a direct response to Turkey’s collapsed social democratic process and its recent disastrous earthquake. This work re-frames the exhibition itself as a “Hyperobject Sculpture” spanning traditional and digital media, focusing on three themes: academic transmediation, transorganizational practices and transregional solidarity. This exhibition is collaboratively being produced and installed in Izmir, Turkey, Washington D.C., New York and Amsterdam.

Ozan Atalan, after his graduation from Anadolu University Faculty of Law in 2007, studied Sculpture at Dokuz Eylul University`s Faculty of Fine Arts. Following his graduation in 2013, he attended Syracuse University School of Art as a Fulbright scholar. During his MFA studies, he extended his art practice through an interdisciplinary field and participated in a variety of national and international shows. He also worked as an adjunct teacher at Syracuse University. After getting his MFA degree in 2016, he moved back to Turkey. Since then, he has been continuing his art practice in Istanbul, Izmir and with international residencies and exhibitions. Currently he is working as an adjunct teacher at Izmir University of Economics, Visual Communication Department. He is also doing a PhD in Arts at Yasar University's School of Art and Design. Ozan Atalan's practice is dominated by an anti-anthropocentric approach through an exploration of human nature based specifically on alienation. With a combination of human and non-human values, introversion and extraversion, he mostly makes multimedia installations to create alternative experiences that are realistic enough not to disconnect from reality, but far enough from reality in order to be able to criticize it.

CHONGHA PETER LEE
Chongha Peter Lee is currently based out of New York and Washington, D.C and Amsterdam. He is a polymath transmedia artist who’s work deals with quantum data science, AI ethics and ethical hacking. His work centers around the concept of the “model”, a term which crosses the arts, sciences, anthropology and pop culture. To communicate across disciplines, cultures and literacies, he constructs playful “probabilistic fictions” which prototype inclusively scalable systems and poetics.
He is currently a Research Fellow for Provisions Library for Arts and Social Change, based out of George Mason University. He has used transmedia to produce new intellectual syntheses, constructed transorganizational interfaces, and directed transregional projects. His current work focuses on collaboratively coordinating a large-scale exhibition in Izmir, Turkey calling for transnational solidarity in response to both Turkey and other countries’ various eco-social crises.
Recently, he advised on AI ethics for one of the first carbon credit and biodiversity markets in the U.S.; collaborated on a novel use and valuation system of NFT's at the New Media Art Museum in Istanbul, Turkey; and collaborated on transmedia works with the politics of oppressed populations for Documenta Fifteen and Manifesta.
In 2016, he received his MFA in Transmedia at Syracuse University, creating an art automation software that took part in the world's first automated VR biennale. He co-founded the “Antifragile Agency”, an art and research assemblage which participated in The Wrong Biennale, and “Superpositional Reality” – a VR work that was shown in Video Vortex as part of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. He co-produced the “The Impossible Dialogues Interface” for the Chile Architectural Biennale XX in 2017 and has been working in socially-engaged art projects showing in multiple Biennales and conferences in both the North and South America's since 2010.
